Quarter of a millionths uEye camera shipped!

Christian van der Ploeg, Representative Director for the Asian/Pacific region proudly handed the camera over to Sumitomo Electric Industries Ltd. The Japanese company, based in Osaka, focuses within its “Information&Communication“ division on developing intelligent transport and surveillance systems which allow 24/7 monitoring and analysis.

2012 also marks IDS‘ 15 anniversary. Founded in 1997 by Juergen Hartmann and Armin Vogt, the company initially developed innovative, yet compact frame grabber. In 2004 IDS started to the development of digital industrial cameras with USB interface in 2004. Today the company has grown significantly, offering a unique and comprehensive portfolio of digital cameras with USB 2.0, USB 3.0 and Gigabit Ethernet interfaces for the industrial and non-industrial markets. Today IDS employs over 120 staff and is internationally represented by subsidiaries in the US, Japan and France and through a network of professional distributors worldwide.
