FALCON/EAGLE user manual 4.62

EAGLES offer a number of further service features compared with FALCON, which are shown in the demo program.

Sync generator

off
on

Switches the sync generator on and off. With turned on sync generator the cameras (slave) are synchronised by the EAGLE (master) over HD and VD. Thus fast switching between the input ports is possible - see also Flash strobe.

Digital I/O

Out

EAGLE has a digital input/output (TTL each). Via this external events can be read and controlled. With “Digital I/O out” the digital output is set by the demo program.

External Trigger

off

Hi->Lo

Lo->Hi

Video entry can be made with the EAGLE except software controlled still by the external trigger input. This TTL input is edge controlled. The flank high-low or low-high, at which an event is to take place, can be selected. If an external event occurs, the current image is frozen with "live video". With "snapshot" selected before a image is transferred into the VGA card or the primary storage with the next VSYNC.

External Trigger

Event

An external trigger event can release a event. In the demo program the occurring events can be counted.

Flash Strobe

On

Off

Inverted

With flash strobe an output signal can be set line precise dependent on the video timing of the sync generator. Thus it is guaranteed that for example flashing does not take place into the " forbidden flash area " of the camera signal. A prerequisite for the error free operation is however the synchronization of the cameras over HD/VD - see also sync generator.
